Well into a 38 year career in health care, Carol Thiel resumed her first love of art.
First, she studied at Monroe Community College, and the Memorial Art Gallery’s Creative Workshop [ Rochester, NY]. Most recently she studied with Carol Douglas.
Constantly inspired by the beauty and wonder of nature, Carol usually paints landscapes. Favorite subjects include Letchworth State Park and the Adirondacks. An Adirondacks 46er [meaning she has climbed the 46 “high peaks”], she now jokes that she’s more likely to paint the peaks than climb them. Now that she’s retired you might find her doing more of both.
Many of Carol’s paintings are don en plein air [on-site] and finished in the studio. She is a member of the Pittsford Art Group and Genesee Valley Plein Air Painters, and participates in the Adirondack Plein Air Festival annually.
